Bloggers Fave – A Truly Vintage Affair⌚️📻🎀

Hey guys👋🏽

Who loves all things vintage?! Meeeee!! So when Lous Lous Vintage Fair said they were looking for bloggers to blog the Fair, I jumped right into it! So before I ramble into an excitement, let’s get right into it!😀

Set in the beautiful, high ornate ceilings of the Grand Hotel in Leicester, this highly sought after fair makes it way all round the United Kingdom. With it, it brings collectable dishware, reclaimed furniture, hair, makeup, vintage clothing and accessories!

Before entering the fair me and my daughter had our hand stamped and entered into what felt like a bygone era❤️ There were two rooms full of everything a vintage lover could possibly want!

The two rooms full of vintage ware! Defo something to tickle everyones vintage taste buds from…..

Tailored outfits…..

Trinkets and much more!

I created a little snapchat to try and bring the event live to you, enjoy👍🏽

The vendors were extremely helpful and friendly. You were able to try on stuff as they had mirrors or some were even happy to let you use the ladies so you got a better picture.

From my snapchat you can see that I picked up a few treasures from the fair. Let’s go through them so you can get a gist of where they are from and my love for them❤️

Marneys Vintage

The best thing about the Vintage Fair was the sale rails that nearly all the vintage clothes holders had! They were some super awesome bargains like my sweater/cardigan/jacket that you can see here. It’s perfect for this season, with large buttons and a psychedelic print in the same colour palette. It has a large, open style cowl neck and big poufy sleeves anndddd pockets! (I love pockets😍) I have been wearing this £5! (Yes I said £5!) item with my skinny jeans, loose fit jeans, blouses and over little winter dresses. It’s so versatile that I can almost pair it with anything! (And can I just say keeps me warm👍🏽)

Minimum Mouse

Although I love jewellery, I don’t really wear it! (Argh I don’t know why lol) but I saw some amazing pieces at the fair so I had to nab them🙊 (and I have worn them!)

I picked up three gorge vintage inspired necklaces from Minimum Mouse (cute name right?!) All ranging from £8-£5! My fave has to be the time inspired one as whenever I wear that one, it always sparks a conversation with other people!

Blousey Clothing

They specialise in unique blouses ranging from the 70’s! With an array of vintage prints and details.

Me and my daughter could not get enough of this stall haha. We wanted them all! But we were good girls, as we still had loads to see (and were being mindful with our pennies!) We obviously went for the offer that said 2 for £25 and bought two gorge shimmery finish blouses that we could wear as staples  with any of our outfits.

I went for a nice cream finish with pointy collars and thread detail on the front. My daughter chose this beautiful beige one with lovely coffee coloured buttons. Trust me there was a blouse for every shape and size!

Raevins House

These gorge candles are homemade by Raevins house. The wax is made out of soy and essentials oils are used to scent the candles. This means no nasty toxic smells and you can wash out the jar once the candle has finished. In fact Raevins house even said that if you take the empty jar or the teacups back, you can have them refilled with your choice of wax! The teacup ones are soooo pretty! They come with their matching saucers and look so vintage! However I have one gripe with the candles, I wish the scent was a little stronger but that may be due to my sinusy nose lol. The jars are at £5 a pop which is quite reasonable and trust me they are gorge looking.

The candles also have super cute names such as the two we’ve bought were called ‘Delias Linen Shirt’ and the other one was aptly named ‘Lous Lous Coffee Pacifier’ 😀

To have a look at the teacup ones check out her website!

Last but not least was this beautiful, unique swirly ring that only cost me…..£1!!!! Yes £1!! Buttt I am so silly I can not recall the lady’s name 😩 she had a vast collection of amazing jewellery such as brooches, vintage scarf ties, earrings, pearl necklaces and more. There were boxes full of bargain items too👍🏽

So if anyone gets a gist of who I am on about please let me know so I could put up her link!

And lastly a fair is not complete without a vintage style tearoom with yummy cakes and hot drinks! So if you’ve never been to a vintage fair make sure Lous Lous is your first experience because believe me, me and my (hard to please daughter) 🙈LOVED it!!!!

MAC Lipstick Collab!💋💄

Hey guys👋🏽

You may remember Madi The Mermaid talking about doing Mac lipstick swatches on her blog! (You didn’t? That’s why you so need to follow her tut tut 😝) So nosey old me messaged her and asked if she would like to do one with me! This would then give our fellow readers a chance to see how Mac lippies look on different skin tones and of course the lovely Madi The Mermaid agreed!😁

Now prior to our post we did email each other asking what lippies we had but realised we did not have a single one that was the same☹ but we thought never mind, it would still be fun to collab and show off our own collection! And lipsticks vary so much on different skin tones, plus everyone owns a Mac lippie right? So here goes…..

Mac- Ruby Woo

My love of red started with this lipstick! It still is my absolute fave! It is a cool toned red with blues undertones (you can’t see the blue! Promise🙈) which means your teeth will look whiter and brighter with this lippie! I believe Ruby Woo would work on any skin tones!👍🏽 I wear this lippie when I’m going out, special event or even everyday! That’s how versatile it is😄

Mac- Brave

A pinky based nude colour that I am not a major fan of. It looks great in the bullet but once applied can look a little washed out on my NC42 skin tone. Usually when I rock this colour I use a brown lip liner to bring some depth into the colour! (Excuse the lighting👎🏽)

Mac- Russian Red

I saw this red on my fave person Sima (the owner of my fave local boutique CHINABOX!) and it looked awesome on her that I had to go get one of my own😂 This red is a lot deeper than the Ruby woo and has warmer undertones. It’s a great colour again for any skin tone, as my sister is around NC35 and it looks great on her too! In fact she prefers Russian Red over Ruby woo!

Mac- Viva glam II

The Viva Glam II range was launched by Rhianna in 2014! This is a mauvey colour which I thought would look great on me as Rhianna is a woman of colour too but how wrong was I? Don’t get me wrong it’s gorge but again like Brave so washed out on me☹. You can see here that I’ve had to pair with Mac Cork lip liner as it would not show up in the pic at all!

Mac- Matte So Chaud

My first Mac orange lippie and I was not disappointed with this one! It’s such a gorge orange! Not too neon bright and it gives such a nice glowy effect on my skin. As this is quite a matte lippie like the Ruby Woo make sure your lips are flake free and ‘balmed’ as every flaw will show! (You have been warned!)

Mac- Hug Me

Another Mac nude! The question is do I like it?😂 Mmmm kinda lol but again a very light pinky nude. It’s ok but again if you are an NC42 you may want to try it with a darker lip liner.

Mac- Dark Side

A superb burgundy from Mac! I love this one! Looks fab on its own and mixed with other berries! It’s not a  matte finish but an amplified one, which means the colour will be super intense and slightly in a satin finish. I’ve rocked this lippie a lot this winter!

Mac- Candy Yum Yum

My first ever pink lippie from Mac! I bought this after I’d seen it on my fave makeup YouTuber Arshia’s makeup (she’s amazing!) As she is an NC42 like me, I reckoned that this would suit me too and holy moly I was right! I love this colour and yes it’s pretty bright in the tube but it looks beautiful on! If you are shy of bold, bright colours I would steer clear from Candy Yum Yum as it may be too much for you🙈

And that is the end of my Mac Lipstick Collection! Does anyone have any other suggestions for colours for an NC42 skin tone? . Also if anyone knows of a nudey colour in the Mac collection that would suit my skin tone please do let me know about that as well! Thanks❤️

Now head over to to check out her fab Mac lipstick collection and let us know if you spot any of your faves in either our posts!  Enjoy😀

Bloggers Fave- The Body Shop Blog Event!😄

Hey guys👋🏽

Here’s a review of my first blog event at The Body Shop! So I was invited along by my local Body Shop at the Highcross, Leicester. The theme was based around their new product launch ‘Drops of Youth’.

I love the revamp of the Body Shop! It wasn’t somewhere I use to go, as I am not a fan of their body butters 🙈(there I said it lol) The other thing that draws me to my local Highcross branch is my lovely skin care expert Laura! If Laura says it’s a fab product it defo is a fab product as she takes he time in researching her ‘skin’ passion. So I met up with Laura and she Introduced me to the new range, which is fab for the Winter!

Now in the Winter we all love to give our skin some tender loving care due to the central heating, cold air and crazy high/ low temperatures! (If you live in the UK you will know what I mean😒) and to help your skin The Body Shop has launched their new skin care! DROPS OF YOUTH!

(A hand picked colllection by Laura for my own skin type)

The products are based on their star ingredient PLANT STEM CELLS! The cells have been sourced from the harshest environments (as that’s where all the exceptional radiance, boosting cells live!) The three plants cells that have been used are Criste Marine, found on the Northern Brittany coastline. Sea Holly from the sandy shores of Soutern Brittany and Edelweiss from the high mountains of Italy. The plants cells have been packed into four Youth Enhancing product and they are –

Youth Essence Lotion £14 – A lotion that cleanses and helps skin absorbs moisture

Youth Cream £20 – Launched by popular demand! A light velvety air-whipped cream to moisturise the skin.

Youth concentrate serum £25 – A treat for the skin! Made with 98% ingredients of natural origin, that will enhance the smoothness of younger looking skin.

Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask £24 – An overnight replenishing mask (stated as Body shops top seller!) that will give you bouncier skin!

Drops of Youth Eye concentrate £19 – A firming concentrate for smoother looking eye contour.

This range claims to tighten pores, will give you smoother lines and bouncy skin!

Laura explained the origins and use of each products and she did a little skin demo on my hand and oh my the products are so velvety and smell gorge! My hand felt clean, light and smooth😍

From the product demo I decided to opt for the eye concentrate (as fine lines are beginning to show! Yes! 👎🏽) Bouncy sleeping mask and the youth concentrate serum. I am pretty happy with my Dermalogica cleansers, hence I opted for serums and masks.

I have been using the eye concentrate for about a week now and I love how cooling the gel is on the metal ball at the end of the tube. It’s dries to a nice matte finish, which then sets as a good base for my concealer. I only do this step in the morning and at night I apply a heavier eye cream.

The serum, I have been applying before my oils of life revitalising oil blend (full review on the oil coming up soon! HINT love the stuff😍) and it applies and soaks into my skin like a dream! This step is only done at night as that’s when I prefer to layer my skin products. During the day, it just feels too heavy for me.

To be honest I have not been trailing the sleepy, bouncy mask for long. As I am so lazy at doing face masks🙈 However this mask is a doddle as you just apply it like a night cream and go to bed with it! Even then I’m moaning lol. But I do love the smell and texture so will defo get back to you and let you know the results. I love how the masks comes with a little spatula so you are able to apply the correct amount. I probably would only use this once a week as that would be a personal preference for face masks.

At the event I was also given a little goody bag with other body shop skin care samples. Hopefully I will get round to trying some of those and letting you know how that goes.

For reference I just wanted to state that I have combination skin with a quite oily T Zone (with a few breakouts and acne scarring)  Laura did say the range was suitable for all skin types and I would say that rings quite true as I had no adverse effects such as breakouts or ‘extra’ oily.

And that wraps up my Body Shop Bloggers Event! Thank you to Laura my skincare expert and to Sally the fab store manager at the Leicester Highcross branch for making me feel so welcome!❤️

If you would like further info or would to try the ‘Drops of youth’ range, please go to 👇🏽 to find your local store!

Have you tried the ‘Drops of youth’ range? If yes, what are your thoughts?

*Disclaimer* please note these products were purchased from my own money (except the sample goody bag)  All the opnions and pictures are solely my own, unless otherwise stated!

My Version of the Black Lipstick Trend! 💋

Hey guys👋🏽

Last week I put up a post showing you a trend that’s quite hot at the mo! THE BLACK LIPSTICK trend!

Now so many of you have requested that I show you my take on the black lipstick. So I thought I’d brave it out and have a go🙈 I do like strong lipstick colours but a black lipstick is just on another level lol. Also being an skintone of NC42 I’m not sure which way this was going to go! But I did do a little run so let me show you how it went.

Step 1

I have quite a few deep burgundy bases but the darkest one I’ve got is my Sleek one in the ‘Vamp’ Before I applied the lipstick I made sure my lips had no flaky bits and were prepped with my fave Maybelline baby lips, as this lippie is quite matte so it will show every little bitty, lip through the lipstick! I then filled my pout in with (without lining my lips first! And trust me that is a first for me😂) Apply a good, even layer and slightly press your lips together.

Step 2

Grabbing my Makeup Revolution lip lacquer in the shade ‘Velvet Vamp’ (do you see a vamp theme progressing? Lol) I proceeded into applying to just the corners of my mouth. Now this lip lacquer goes on super glossy but it then dries super matte! (Amazing stuff with great pigment) After the lip lacquer had dried, I used a third lipstick🙈

Step 3

My third lippie had to be Mac ‘Darkside’! It is in a amplified finish which means the colour is a true deep pigment! and it’s gorge. I applied ‘Darkside’ all over my lips, with another final press.

Step 4

Lastly I grabbed my Barry M lip liner in the shade ‘7’ and lined my lips, not really going over as I have Fullish lips anyways and voila my version of the Black Lipstick trend is complete😍

Now I know this seems like a lot of steps but to be honest I was a little apprehensive to do a true black and it’s not a lipstick I own🙈 So going by the trend I could see that a deep burgundy would work quite well, hence all the steps used to create this look. What do you think guys? I hope you like it! I personally believe that the shades I used would look great on lighter skin tones too! Have a go and let me know how you get on😀

(I tried to show the finish in many different lights as possible👍🏽)

Have you tried the Black lipstick trend? If yes! Show me how you rocked it! You can tag me @glitterglosglo on Instagram or pop a mention in the comments down below.
