It is officially December the 1st!! Yaay! That means you can officially start talking about Christmas! Yaay! (Exclamation marks going cray cray! Yaay! 😂 )
Some of you may have already started your Christmas shopping or just about to start. But those of you still stuck on gifts for him or her, then I think I have THE answer for you!
What is it?
The CLARISONIC MIA2! Why? Because I actually believe it has helped calm my skin, made it glow and has helped with my acne! Now if I had not trialled this properly, I would defo not be blogging about it! (3/4 months now 😁) Trust me I was super close to returning the clarisonic but I stubbornly stuck by it 🙌🏽
Who, what, why, where?
Before I blabber on about my experience, 😴 let me give you a little insight behind this facial cleansing brush 👇🏽
🤓👉🏼 Clarisonic invented sonic skin cleansing in 2004 and has sold over 10 million of it’s patented cleansing brush! The clarisonic is loved by Oprah, Justin Timberlake, Courtney Cox and Gwyneth Paltrow 😀
The clarisonic is available in over 50 countries. The device claims to reveal healthy, younger looking skin. The clarisonic main aims are to cleanse your skin 6x better than hands alone (wow some big claims!) It is gentle enough for twice a day use, clarisonic devices are the #1 most recommended by US dermatologists. The brush’s award winning device are distributed through cosmetic surgeons, spas, prestige retailers and online clarisonic.com. Clarisonic is part of the L’oreal company.
Since 2004 the clarisonic has gone from strength to strength, with a staggering 6 different brush heads, 2 pedi heads, body brushes and brush heads ranging from sensitive to deep pore! 🙃
THE Purchase! (and experience)
I got introduced to the clarisonic by my sister. She absolutely swears by it! But I am a little skeptical about changing up my skin care (check my acne prone skin post!) However I succumbed and picked up the Mia2 (there are various models so speak to the clarisonic specialist to see which one suits you or your gifter) I chose the Mia2 because it has 2 speed settings and came with the brush heads I wanted (sensitive) I also recieved the ‘cashmere’ and ‘satin’ luxe brush heads in the kit.

Now as stated by clarisonic ‘it is gentle enough for twice a day use’ and I’m assuming that’s daily! And that’s exactly how I started using it (with the sensitive brush head) but it irritated my skin in an awful way 😟 I took advice from my sister and researched online and many spoke of the ‘purging’ period (saying won’t last more than 2 weeks) So I persevered but my skin hated me! It got bumpy, sensitive, itchy and more acne prone. I could not understand what I was doing wrong. I followed all the instructions, to use the brush over the face lightly, focusing on each areas for the recommended secs but my skin did not like me 😓
So I decided to turn the usage down. I went from daily to once a week but my skin still did not like it and we were now on week 4!
At this point I was seriously debating about returning the horrid device and stopped using it for a week. But I had another change of heart and decided to try a different brush (cashmere) and holy moly I am so glad I did! As this brush was the answer to my prayers! My skin felt cleaner and I swear it was glowing! All the bumps calmed down and the itchiness had gone 😁 I continued to use the ‘cashmere’ brush on alternate days (only once a day) and my skin now loves it! The breakouts are less frequent and oily skin? What oily skin? Even my fine lines looked plumped and good.
The absorption of my moisturisers and serums has improved. Also make up application feels beautiful and looks flawless on my skin.
Also I should state that I did not use the refreshing gel cleanser that came in the kit, I chose to continue with my own Dermalogica cleanser and it worked just as well. I have however stopped using an exfoliater, as I find that the brush is ample for a thorough cleanse and exfoliate.
I also feel very silly of not having a before and after pic! As many of you may think (like I do sometimes well where’s the proof the pudding???🍨lol) but I really was pretty sure it would not work for me and I would have to return the device. How very wrong was I 😕
The Clarisonic in use!
Here is a short vid showing you the small sonic vibrations the clarisonic makes (you can’t feel it on your skin!) You can also hear the device beep, that tells you to move on to the next area of your face. When the whole cleansing process has finished, the device will beep/vibrate twice and stop. (Video is my own)
The clarisonic kit and where can I purchase it from?
Now Let’s see what you get for your money
*Mia2 pink device
*3 brush heads
*Universal voltage charger
*Sample size refreshing gel cleanser
Yes I know £119 is a lot of money but when you accumulate the usage and what you get in the kit, it’s worth it! If my skin had not improved and I didn’t get the comments from others. I would say don’t bother!
This would be ideal for men and women! From the vast selection of brushes available, there is defo one for everyone and all skin types! One thing I would like to point out to clarisonic is that the standard brush heads (such as sensitive and delicate) fit so well with the Mia2 travel case. But with the luxe brushes the travel case does not shut! However guys pls do not let that put you off because the brush has a cap like cover any ways 😁so your Mia2 is well protected whilst travelling.

There are various online retailers and of course clarisonic.com. themselves! But if you live in the UK I purchased mine from m.debenhams.com They have a clarisonic counter where the sales comsultant is fully trained on all the devices and brush heads available!
If you are going to gift this product make sure you make the recipient aware of the different brushes and point them towards the clarisonic website, as they have heaps of info. Also retain the receipt just in case it really does not work out for them, at least you or they can return it. If you do think about purchasing it for yourself, I would say do it! But remember everyone’s skin is different, so perservere, try different brush heads and tweak your usuage.
And that wraps up my exclusive Christmas gift post! Do you own a clarisonic? If yes! what are your thoughts? Has anyone tried any other brush heads, besides the ones I have mentioned?
If you have anymore Clarisonic questions pls hit me up down below in the comments section! 😊
